Vision
Skyline's college ministry exists to see students forever transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ and by God’s vision for all of life.
We are…
- Christian. We joyfully and publicly confess that Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son and the Lord and Savior of the world. We wholeheartedly believe and personally treasure the good news of what God has done in and through his Son Jesus - particularly in his death and resurrection - to bring us back to himself. We celebrate the privilege and take seriously the call to tell others about Jesus for God's glory and the world's salvation.
- From and for local churches. We prioritize the local church as the primary context in which God has designed for his redeemed people to grow up into Christian maturity over a lifetime. We therefore aim to build up college-age disciples in their faith within the context of a local assembly of Christians (whether Skyline Church or otherwise), and teach them to embed themselves in the local church for the rest of their lives.
- On mission on campus. We believe opportunities for biblical evangelism are at a premium on college campuses. The campus is a context marked by the frequent transfer of ideas and conversations about life’s biggest questions. The typically hard ground of personal beliefs is providentially pre-tilled by the college context. Students are therefore ready for consideration of new alternatives. The beliefs one arrives at in college will more than likely be held for the rest of their life. For these reasons, the college campus is a rich field for Christian mission.
Our college ministry currently meets as one of our church's lifegroups, with the specific goal of providing community for students who are college-aged or in college.
We also regularly host events on the Auraria campus downtown, usually involving volleyball, spikeball, and free food. If you're interested in getting involved please fill out a connect card here or DM our instagram @skylinecollegeministry!
